Adding a Subtitle

Teyuto supports the VTT and SRT subtitle format as it is more expressive and empowers you with superior customization.

If you have your subtitles in a different format (ass, ssa, smi, or sub), use this free format converter by Subtitles Tools.

You can also refer to our step-by-step subtitle conversion guide here.

  • Open the video editor dialog box

After clicking the edit button on a video, you’ll have this dialog box in front of you:

Note: You can find the “Edit” button in the hamburger icon next to your video (in the user dashboard). For a step-by-step guide to this dialog box, visit the “Video Editing - Getting Started” guide.

  • Click on the “Subtitles” button

Click on the “Subtitles” button at the top of the dialog box.

You will have the subtitles menu open in front of you.

  • Click on the “Choose File” button

Press the “Choose File” button (highlighted below).

A dialog box will open in front of you.

  • Select your subtitles file

If you’re not in the folder containing the VTT subtitle file of your video, navigate to your target folder and select it.

  • Choose the language and press upload

Click on the Language option on the right and choose the language of your subtitles.

Tip: Since the list contains a wide variety of global languages, you can quickly discover your desired language by typing it in.

Now, press the Upload button.

Your file will start appearing as the current file.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully updated your subtitles.
